In short. DESK gathers the things a trader otherwise keeps in a dozen browser tabs — prices, world news, macro and company data, a dictionary — and puts them next to the things only you have: your trades, your portfolio, your notes, your calendar. Access is by account. Every account sees its own entries and nobody else's.
DESK is built and run by Jonah Hartmann, a trader who has followed the world economy for years. Two things always bothered him: a number gets quoted somewhere and there is no way to check where it came from — and for everything else you need yet another website with its own subscription.
DESK is the workspace he wanted for himself: every figure carries its source and year, and the world economy, companies and crypto sit in one place, next to your own trades and notes. It is built for people who are new to markets as much as for anyone who follows macro and politics closely.
There is no advertising: no sponsored brokers, no paid placements, no affiliate links, no tracking pixels on our pages. The only thing DESK sells is DESK. Contact and legal details are in the legal notice; the rules behind every calculation are on the methodology page.
DESK is a workspace. It is not a service that trades for you, and it is not a signal provider. It shows numbers and lets you write things down. Every figure comes from a named public source, and all of them are listed on the Sources page inside the app.
It runs on a rented server in the European Union and is operated by one person. There is no advertising, no tracking and no analytics service of a third party.
| Markets | Price charts and a ticker tape, an economic calendar and a crypto terminal. |
| News, Radar & Impact | World news by country and topic, the events that matter over weeks rather than minutes, and what they mean for supply, prices and companies. |
| Macro Terminal | World maps for indicators, trade flows, resources, shipping routes, pipelines, conflicts and infrastructure — with the figures behind each of them, and a page for every country and company. |
| Portfolio & Journal | Your positions in one currency, and a journal for your own trades. |
| Market Geometry | A reference for chart geometry. |
| Dictionary | Trading terms explained, in English and German. |
| Brokers, platforms & prop firms | Compared rather than advertised. |
| Community & DESK AI | Channels and direct messages with other members, and an assistant that answers from the data in DESK — no investment advice. |
The Life page carries a calendar. You can connect your own Google Calendar to it, and entries are then kept in step in both directions: what you enter in DESK appears in Google, what you enter in Google appears in DESK, and deleting works either way.
Which access is requested, and why. DESK asks for exactly one scope:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events — reading and writing the events of
your calendar.
Both halves are needed because the sync goes both ways. A read-only scope would allow one direction only, and the whole point is that you do not have to think about which side you are typing on.
DESK does not read your contacts, your mail or your files. It does not create or delete calendars. It touches only the events of your primary calendar. Nothing happens until you connect it yourself, and Disconnect ends it at any time.
What is transferred, how it is stored and how long it is kept is written out in the privacy policy.
If you would rather not sign in to anything, DESK also offers a subscription link. Any calendar application can subscribe to it and your DESK entries appear there. That direction is read-only and needs no account connection at all.
DESK gives no investment advice. Nothing here is a recommendation to enter or avoid a position. The figures come from public sources and can be wrong, stale or incomplete; where a number could not be verified, DESK says so instead of guessing. The decisions are yours, and so is the risk.
The DESK app sits behind a sign-in. Open to everyone without an account: the data pages, the explainers, the weekly report archive and the methodology. Open DESK.
